Regular Season Round 18: Halle - Goettingen 77-90

There was no surprise in Halle where 11th ranked Gisa Lions (4-14) were defeated by eighth ranked Goettingen (7-10) 90-77 on Sunday. Goettingen made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Gisa Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Jill Morton (175-98, college: N.Dakota) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. International point guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Jordan Korinek (189-96, college: Kent St.) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Snezana Aleksic (173-89) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gisa Lions' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Goettingen maintains eighth position with 7-10 record. Newly promoted Gisa Lions keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Goettingen will face BasCats Heidelberg (#10) at home in the next round. Gisa Lions will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
