Regular Season Round 17: Yerevan - FIMA Basketball 106-132

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Yerevan (9-10) against fourth ranked FIMA Basketball (7-11) on Monday night. Host Yerevan was crushed by FIMA Basketball in 132-106. It looked good early as Yerevan took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then FIMA Basketball had a 39-20 second period charge getting the lead and Yerevan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 106-132. They outrebounded Yerevan 58-43 including 17 on the offensive glass. FIMA Basketball players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. The former international center Georgii Podkolzin (201-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian guard Ben Miller (188, college: Acadia) contributed with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international Albert Tatevosyan (195-93) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists and American-Jordanian guard Rasheim Wright (192-81, college: District of Col.) added 6 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Yerevan. Five FIMA Basketball and four Yerevan players scored in double figures. FIMA Basketball maintains fourth place with 7-11 record. Newly promoted Yerevan keeps the third position with ten games lost.
