Regular Season Round 18: Zalgiris U18 - Sostines 93-65

An interesting game took place in Kaunas where one of their biggest challengers Sostines (11-6) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Zalgiris U18 (7-10) 93-65. The game without a history. Zalgiris U18 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Forward Vincas Aleknavicius (198-2) notched 26 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Dominykas Stenionis (174-2) supported him with 20 points and 8 assists. Four Zalgiris U18 players scored in double figures. Coach Saulius Marciukaitis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points and 4 assists by Ernestas Stulgis (-2) did not help to save the game for Sostines. Deimantas Valavicius (-2) added 19 points. Zalgiris U18 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tornado KM. Sostines at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Zalgiris U18 will play against league's second-placed Panevezio on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sostines will play against the league's leader V.Knasiaus KM and hopes to get back on the winning track.
