Regular Season Round 18: Panevezio - Pasvalio 87-60

Very expected game when 12th ranked Pasvalio (1-15) was crushed on the road by third ranked Panevezio (15-2) 87-60 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Panevezio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Pasvalio's 36. Panevezio forced 27 Pasvalio turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Panevezio made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Eirinas Pilkauskas (197-2) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Dovydas Butka (200-3) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Panevezio players scored in double figures. Panevezio had such big advantage that coach Zydrunas Valuckis felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Robertas Indrisiunas (-2) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and Lukas Staskevicius (-2) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Panevezio have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Vilniaus Silputa. Pasvalio lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Panevezio will meet at home Zalgiris U18 (#5) in the next round. Pasvalio will play against Kretingos SM (#8) and hope to win that game.
