Regular Season Round 20: Horsholm - Amager 60-86

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Amager as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Amager smashed their close opponent Horsholm on the road 86-60. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Amager led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Amager outrebounded Horsholm 51-23 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Ruth Sherrill (183-94, college: Temple) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. International forward Elisabeth Hansen (177-93) chipped in 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Alyssa Rader (188-97, college: S.Florida) produced 17 points and 5 assists and international swingman Anne Pedersen (185-92, college: LSU) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Horsholm's coach Jesper Rasmussen gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Amager (15-2) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Horsholm at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Horsholm will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Amager will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Lemvig on the road.
