No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Bayrakli (13-8) defeated at home 14th ranked Sakarya Y. (6-15) 88-72 on Friday. They outrebounded Sakarya Y. 46-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Bayrakli looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Hande Kuzu (182-90, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American center Chatrice White (190-96, college: FSU) chipped in 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was the former international forward Nazli Guler (184-82) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Doga Comba (185-94, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Sakarya Y. players scored in double figures. Bayrakli moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Antalya 07. Newly promoted Sakarya Y. keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Bayrakli will meet higher ranked Mardin BSB (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sakarya Y. will play against Botas (#11) and hope to secure a win.
