Second Stage Round 5: Triglav - Ledita D. 53-61

An interesting game for Ledita D. (8-6) which played road game in Kranj against 4th placed Triglav (6-9). Third ranked Ledita D. managed to get a 8-point victory 61-53. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Triglav. The game without a history. Ledita D. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Triglav to just 7 points in first quarter. Guard Eva Prevodnik (166-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Urska Zibert (174-93) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Alexis Burke (180-92, college: Rutgers) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and Bosnian Lejla Omerbasic (182-97) added 12 points in the effort for Triglav. Triglav's coach Ernest Novak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Ledita D. maintains third place with 8-6 record having eight points less than leader Ilrija. Triglav at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Ledita D. are looking forward to face Konjice (#6) on the road in the next round. Triglav will play against the league's second-placed Jezica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
