Second Stage Round 6: Neptunas-Akv. - Suduva-Mantinga 69-70

Fourth-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (19-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (28-6) in Klaipeda on Saturday. The visitors from Marijampole managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was guard Zygimantas Simonis (192-95) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Klaidas Metrikis (204-0) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-1) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Telsiai. Neptunas-Akv. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 15 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga is looking forward to face Delikatesas (#6) in Joniskis in the next round where they are favorite. Neptunas-Akv. will play at home against Perlas and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
