Regular Season Round 21: Crailsheim 2 - Mannheim 74-72

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Mannheim (7-14) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Crailsheim 2 (11-10) 74-72 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Crailsheim 2 forced 19 Mannheim turnovers. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Benjamin Kaufhold (185-89) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mannheim's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Crailsheim 2 moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Idstein. Mannheim lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Crailsheim 2 will face league's leader Karlsruhe SC on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mannheim will play against Giessen Pointers (#9) and hope to win that game.
