Very expected game when 10th ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (1-14) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (9-6) 74-59 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American forward Kama Griffitts (183-91, college: Arizona) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) helped adding 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Rotenburg/Scheessel's coach Christian Greve used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Anabel Neuber-Valdez (175-1) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Lucile Peroche (174-98) scored 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Rotenburg/Scheessel have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in North. ChemCats Chemnitz lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Rotenburg/Scheessel will have a break next round. ChemCats Chemnitz will play on the road against SG BBZ Opladen (#5) in Leverkusen and hope to win that game.
