Everything went according to plan when third ranked Homburger TG (13-4) beat at home 7th ranked Weiterstadt (8-10) 74-56 on Sunday. Homburger TG dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Weiterstadt's 30. Homburger TG forced 20 Weiterstadt turnovers. It was a great evening for naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (182-87, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Laken James (175-95, college: Green Bay) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Homburger TG players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Christina Krick (169) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Saskia Giesselbach (174) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Homburger TG have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Bamberg. Loser Weiterstadt keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Homburger TG will face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Weiterstadt will play against Jahn Muenchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
