Regular Season Round 19: Krofdorf - Opladen 82-80

The most exciting game of round 19 in the 2.Bundesliga took place in Giessen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked SG BBZ Opladen (8-7) to eighth ranked Krofdorf (7-9) 82-80 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for American swingman Darien Huff (175-97, college: Charleston) who led her team to a victory scoring 31 points and 8 rebounds. Czech center Tereza Kracikova (188-96, college: Drexel) helped adding 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Huff is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Martha Middeler (184-99) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SG BBZ Opladen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Krofdorf moved-up to seventh place in North. SG BBZ Opladen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Krofdorf are looking forward to face Panthers Osn. (#9) in Osnabrueck in the next round. SG BBZ Opladen will play at home against ChemCats Chemnitz (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
