Second Stage Round 7: Agronomia - Targu Mures 55-63

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Targu Mures' (10-4) road victory over 10th ranked Agronomia (7-8) in Bucurest 63-55. It looked good early as Agronomia took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Targu Mures had a 18-9 second period charge getting the lead and Agronomia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 55-63. Strangely Agronomia outrebounded Targu Mures 54-26 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Brittney Dunbar (173-93, college: Weber St.) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Cristina Badi (178-93) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Targu Mures players scored in double figures. Montenegrin Tijana Ninkovic (176-1) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and American center Jordan Hawkins (188-97, college: Assumption) added 12 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Agronomia's coach Milan Sokic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Targu Mures moved-up to eighth place. Agronomia lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Targu Mures' next round opponent will be Rapid Bucuresti (#12) at home. Agronomia will play against Targu Secuiesc and hope to win that game.
