The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Flying Foxes (5-6) played at the court of Linz Wels (3-9). Linz Wels smashed Flying Foxes 74-52. The game was mostly controlled by Linz Wels. Flying Foxes was better in second period 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Linz Wels dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Flying Foxes' 32. Linz Wels forced 19 Flying Foxes turnovers and outrebounded them 42-21 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Linz Wels players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Flying Foxes' players. Power forward Marlies Kolin (179-92) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Lisa Ganhor (168-1) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Linz Wels' coach Dana Beszczysnki felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Anna Schaber (168-2) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Lena Schonthaler (160-2) scored 13 points. Four Flying Foxes players scored in double figures. Linz Wels' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .
