There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Targu Mures (10-6) were crushed on the road by eleventh ranked Alexandria (8-10) 76-56 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Alexandria. Targu Mures was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alexandria forced 26 Targu Mures turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Briana Gray (178, college: Weber St.) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Shannon Powell (168, college: USF) who added 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Alexandria's coach Madalin Piperea used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Brittney Dunbar (173-93, college: Weber St.) responded with 9 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Emese Gal (-92) scored 15 points. Alexandria have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Loser Targu Mures keep the ninth position with six games lost. Alexandria will have a break next round.
