Second Stage Round 6: Domzale - Ilrija 54-59

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Domzale (2-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Ilrija (4-2) 59-54 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Domzale won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ilrija won last quarter 13-9. They also forced 22 Domzale turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Ana Micunovic (172-3) who scored 18 points. Manca Vrecer (178-2) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovakian point guard Katarina Jakovljevic (172-0) who recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Maja Grintal (177-96) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ilrija maintains seventh position in Places 7-10 with 4-2 record. Domzale lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
