Very predictable result when second ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (17-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Gaziantep (7-13) 82-72 on Thursday. They outrebounded Gaziantep 33-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward DJ Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Tony Taylor (184-90, college: GWU) who added 12 points and 5 assists during the contest. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Can Ugur Ogut (178-92) scored 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinar Karsiyaka have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record having just one point less than leader Anadolu Efes. Gaziantep lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will face Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gaziantep will play at home against OGM Orman and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
