Regular Season Round 19: Kretingos SM - V.Alpi Baltika 92-102

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kretinga where 8th ranked Kretingos SM (6-10) was defeated by ninth ranked Vilniaus KM II (6-11) 102-92. The game was mostly controlled by Vilniaus KM II. Kretingos SM was better in fourth quarter 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilniaus KM II forced 22 Kretingos SM turnovers. Kretingos SM was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Rokas Jaseliunas (178-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Guard Povilas Lapienis (177-2) contributed with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Vilniaus KM II players scored in double figures. Vilniaus KM II's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Rokas Zilinskis (-2) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and forward Tadas Budrys (198-2) added 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Kretingos SM. Vilniaus KM II maintains ninth place with 6-11 record. Kretingos SM lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Vilniaus KM II will play against higher ranked Tornado KM (#5) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kretingos SM will play at home against Marijampoles and hopes to get back on the winning track.
