No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Idstein (12-11) defeated on the road 11th ranked Kaiserslautern (8-14) 95-86 on Saturday. Kaiserslautern was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Julian DeBose (193-92, college: FGCU) fired 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Czech Jan Dolejsi (187-92) chipped in 24 points. Idstein's coach Igor Starcevic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Aaron Reams (192-91) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Idstein have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Idstein maintains fourth position in South-West with 12-11 record, which they share with Crailsheim 2. Loser Kaiserslautern dropped to the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Idstein will face Kronberg (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kaiserslautern will play against Saarlouis/Dillingen and hope to win that game.
