Very significant was Dynamo-NPU's (#2, 9-7) victory against one of their biggest challengers Rivne (9-8) 83-57. The game without a history. Dynamo-NPU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rivne to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Dynamo-NPU dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rivne's 14 and made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rivne 48-34 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Allazia Blockton (183, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Ashley Morrissette (175-95, college: Purdue) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Viktoriya Shmatova (172-87) replied with 26 points and guard Yaroslava Ivaniuk (162-2) added 12 points in the effort for Rivne. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-7 record having nine points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Rivne at the other side dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Dynamo-NPU's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Chaika (#6) in Berdiansk. Rivne will play at home against the league's leader Kyiv Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
