Second Stage Round 8: Satu Mare - Brasov 75-58

Date: February 29, 2020
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Brasov (2-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked Satu Mare (9-3) 75-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Brasov was better in third quarter 23-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Serbian point guard Maja Miljkovic (175-88) who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Satu Mare players scored in double figures. Serbian-Bosnian center Nikolina Zubac (188-98) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Bosnian swingman Dragana Zubac (182-1) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Satu Mare maintains second position with 9-3 record having four points less than leader Targu Secuiesc. Brasov lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Satu Mare will face CSM Targoviste (#4) on the road in the next round. Brasov will play against Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
