Second Stage Round 4: Gmunden - Kapfenberg 104-77

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gmunden Swans as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gmunden Swans smashed one of their biggest challengers Kapfenberg Bulls at home 104-77. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kapfenberg Bulls. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Gmunden Swans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Gmunden Swans looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-93, college: Utah, agency: 3Eye) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jeremy Jones (201-96, college: Gonzaga) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Eric McClellan (193-93, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Klosterneuburg. Defending champion Kapfenberg Bulls keep the third place with six games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will play next round against UBC St. Poelten trying to get back on the winning streak. Gmunden Swans will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Dukes in Klosterneuburg.
