Regular Season Round 21: Final Spor - Ankara B. 77-74

Fifteenth-ranked Ankara B. (4-17) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Final Spor (13-8) in Bursa on Saturday. Final Spor managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Final Spor outrebounded Ankara B. 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. American point guard Marlain Veal (175-96, college: SE Louisiana) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Senegalese forward Abdoulaye Gueye (206-94, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Desi Washington (188-92, college: St.Peter's) with 23 points and the other American import center Terrell Carter-II (208, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ankara B.'s coach Ahmet Arif Turhan tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Final Spor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bandirma BK and Akhisar Bld. Newly promoted Ankara B. keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Samsun. Final Spor will meet league's second-placed Socar Petkim on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ankara B. will play against Manisa (#9) and hope to secure a win.
