Regular Season Round 20: Neuss - ALBA Berlin 76-79

A very interesting game took place in Neuss. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked TG Neuss (9-8) to eighth ranked ALBA Berlin (7-8) 79-76 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by Lena Gohlisch (173-93) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and American center Erika Livermore (185-93, college: Fair Dickinson) supported her with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by Canadian guard Jill Stratton (180-91, college: Toronto) did not help to save the game for TG Neuss. Swingman Franziska Worthmann (178-86, college: RMU) added 20 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. ALBA Berlin moved-up to seventh place in North. TG Neuss lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. ALBA Berlin's next round opponent will be higher ranked Baskets Grunberg (#6) in Gruenberg and it may be quite challenging game.
