Regular Season Round 19: Chernomorets - Balkan 77-94

NBL top team - Balkan (18-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eighth ranked Chernomorets (4-15) in Burgas 94-77. Balkan players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. It was a quality performance for Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (205-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Kris Minkov (199-94) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Serbian center Milenko Veljkovic (217-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Georgi Kenderov (196-99) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. Five Balkan and four Chernomorets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Balkan have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-1 record. Newly promoted Chernomorets keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Balkan will play against Academic (#5) in Sofia in the next round. Chernomorets will play on the road against Rilski in Samokov and hopes to get back on the winning track.
