Regular Season Round 27: Art.Dragons - Nuernberg 98-92

An interesting game took place in Quakenbrueck where 4th placed Nuernberg (15-11) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Artland Dragons (9-16) 98-92 on Saturday. Artland Dragons made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Artland Dragons outrebounded Nuernberg 43-24 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Nuernberg was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Jannes Hundt (182-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 assists. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) helped adding 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jackson Kent (201-93, college: JMU) with 19 points and 4 assists and Stephan Haukohl (205-93) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Artland Dragons and four Nuernberg players scored in double figures. Nuernberg's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Artland Dragons maintains fourteenth place with 9-16 record. Loser Nuernberg keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Artland Dragons will face higher ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nuernberg will play against Walter Tigers (#12) and hope to win that game.
