Very important is a home loss of second ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (19-6) against fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (15-11) on Saturday night. Host Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was defeated by MLP Academics Heidelberg in Bremerhaven 84-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. MLP Academics Heidelberg made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: WSU) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American swingman Joshua Braun (193-94, college: GCU) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nuernberg. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Kirchheim Knights (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Lions (#15) in Karlsruhe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
