Regular Season Round 27: Kirchheim - Bayer Giants 77-84

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Bayer Giants (14-11) defeated on the road 9th ranked Kirchheim Knights (12-14) 84-77 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Bayer Giants especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a great evening for Serbian guard Nino Celebic (191-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). American forward Nick Hornsby (201-95, college: Sacramento St.) helped adding 19 points. Bayer Giants' coach Hansi Gnad allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Till Pape (206-97) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Nico Brauner (188-94, college: St.Mary's) scored 13 points. Bayer Giants moved-up to sixth place. Loser Kirchheim Knights keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Bayer Giants will face higher ranked Science City Jena (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kirchheim Knights will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#4) and hope to win that game.
