Regular Season Round 21: Itzehoe - Bochum 95-72

ProB top team - Itzehoe (15-6) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked SparkassenStars (11-10) 95-72. Itzehoe forced 21 SparkassenStars turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Chris Hooper (198-91, college: St.Francis, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Croatian-Bosnian forward Marko Boksic (201-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Zach Haney (211-96, college: Boise St.) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and British guard Conner Washington (183-92) added 17 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Itzehoe maintains first place in North with 15-6 record. Loser SparkassenStars dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Itzehoe will meet SG Schwelmer Baskets (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
