Second Stage Round 1: Hopsi Polzela - Helios Suns 84-75

An exciting game was played in Polzela. Hopsi Polzela faced Helios Suns. Host Hopsi Polzela (1-0) defeated guests from Domzale (0-1) 84-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-23. But Helios Suns won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hopsi Polzela dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Helios Suns' 34. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Collins (185-92, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 assists. Naturalized Bosnian forward Simo Atanackovic (207-90) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Croatian swingman Davor Konjevic (198-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with 18 points and Urban Oman (197-98) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Helios Suns. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hopsi Polzela will play against Krka (#6) in Novo Mesto in the next round. Helios Suns will play on the road against Primorska in Koper and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
