Regular Season Round 22: Jena 2 - Bamberg 87-82

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Bamberg (13-8) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Jena 2 (12-10) 87-82 on Saturday. Bamberg was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Lorenz Bank (187-1) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Jena 2's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Steffen Walde (190-92) produced 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Kevin Jefferson (175-96) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Bamberg players scored in double figures. They have a solid four-game winning streak. Jena 2 maintains fifth position in South-East with 12-10 record. Loser Bamberg dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Jena 2 will face league's second-placed TSV Troester in Breitenguessbach in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bamberg will play at home against Herzogenaurach and hope to win that game.
