Regular Season Round 19: Spartak Pleven - Rilski 79-101

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Rilski (14-5) smashed on the road 9th ranked Spartak Pleven (3-16) 101-79. Rilski dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 38. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: Loyola Mary) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Jordan Bozov (191-79) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Power forward Dimitar Marincheshki (200-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Martin Marinov (191-85) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for Spartak Pleven in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rilski moved-up to third place. Spartak Pleven lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Rilski will play against Chernomorets (#8) in Burgas in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Spartak Pleven will play on the road against Academik Plovdiv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
