Regular Season Round 22: Herford - Wulfen 112-81

Very expected game when 10th ranked BSV Wulfen (9-15) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Herford (18-6) 112-81 on Saturday. Herford dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to BSV Wulfen's 46. Herford forced 20 BSV Wulfen turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Four Herford players scored in double figures. American point guard Bryant Allen (183-90, college: Dakota St.) produced 25 points and 5 steals and point guard Steffen Piechotta (178-92) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Herford have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in West with 18-6 record having just two point less than leader Ansbach. BSV Wulfen lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Herford will face Hagen-Haspe (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. BSV Wulfen will play against Dorsten and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
