Regular Season Round 20: Botas - Kayseri 67-61

We should mention about the upset which took place in Adana, where higher ranked Kayseri (9-9) lost to twelfth ranked Botas (5-14) in a road game 61-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kayseri. 24 personal fouls committed by Kayseri helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and international Melis Gulcan (186-96) supported her with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Botas players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Kaela Davis (188-95, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Kayseri. Her fellow American import guard Kennedy Burke (185-97, college: UCLA, agency: Wasserman) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Botas maintains twelfth position with 5-14 record. Kayseri at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Botas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Cankaya (#4) in Ankara and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kayseri will play at home against Cukurova and hope to win that game.
