Regular Season Round 27: Rostock - Uni Baskets 95-101

Date: March 1, 2020
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Rostock (11-15) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Uni Baskets (13-11) 101-95 on Sunday. Strangely Rostock outrebounded Uni Baskets 46-25 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Kendale McCullum (185-96, college: Lewis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Jackson Trapp (193-92, college: FAU) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. Trapp is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Uni Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Zach Lofton (193-92, college: N.Mexico St.) with 24 points and 4 assists and center Kalidou Diouf (206-94, college: CBU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Rostock's coach Dirk Bauermann let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Uni Baskets moved-up to seventh place. Loser Rostock dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Uni Baskets will face league's leader Chemnitz at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rostock will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) in Allmendingen and hope to win that game.
