Very important is a road loss of third ranked SumDU (16-8) against fourth ranked Politekhnik (13-9) on Sunday night. Visiting SumDU was crushed by Politekhnik in Kharkiv 75-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SumDU. They outrebounded SumDU 55-34 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Politekhnik made 7 blocks. American guard Christian Bradford (185-95, college: Radford) notched 30 points to lead the effort and the other American import forward Isaac Banks (201-94, college: ETSU) supported him with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Bradford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by point guard Georgiy Altuhov (180-96) did not help to save the game for SumDU. Igor Jurkevicius added 12 points. Politekhnik maintains fourth position with 13-9 record. Loser SumDU keeps the third place with eight games lost. Politekhnik will meet DYUSH-DOR (#7) in the next round.
