Regular Season Round 30: Niko-Basket - KDPU 91-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked KDPU (21-3) in Mykolaiv on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Niko-Basket (19-5) 91-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KDPU. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. KDPU trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-91 at the end of the game. It was a good game for forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-97) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Sergiy Starcev replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Vladyslav Frolov (202-98) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for KDPU. Five KDPU players scored in double figures. Niko-Basket maintains second position with 19-5 record having 4 victories less than leader KDPU. KDPU at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Niko-Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KDPU will play on the road against Mariupol and is hoping to win this game.
