Regular Season Round 21: Giessen 46ers 2 - Elchingen 75-101
Date: March 1, 2020
ProB top team - Elchingen (19-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Giessen 46ers 2 (11-10) 101-75. Elchingen made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Elchingen outrebounded Giessen 46ers 2 45-24 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Croatian forward Luka Kamber (203-94, college: Nicholls St.) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Leon Okpara (195-98) added 12 points in the effort for Giessen 46ers 2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Elchingen. They maintain first place in South with 19-2 record. Giessen 46ers 2 at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Elchingen's next round opponent will be Loewen (#12) in Erfurt which should be another easy win for them. Giessen 46ers 2 will play on the road against White Wings (#3) in Hanau and hope to win that game.
