Regular Season Round 24: Prienai CBet - Zalgiris 79-94

LKL top team - Zalgiris (21-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Prienai CBet (10-13) 94-79. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Prienai CBet was better in fourth quarter 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of international center Martinas Geben (208-94, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Thomas Walkup (193-92, college: SF Austin) who added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79) with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Laurynas Birutis (213-97) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Zalgiris and five Prienai CBet players scored in double figures. Zalgiris have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-2 record. Prienai CBet at the other side keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Zalgiris will play against Juventus (#4) in Utena in the next round. Prienai CBet will play at home against Dzukija and hopes to get back on the winning track.
