Regular Season Round 19: Levski Lukoil - Beroe 98-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Sofia. Second ranked host Levski Lukoil (17-2) smashed 4th placed Beroe (13-6) 98-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beroe. Levski Lukoil dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Beroe's players. It was a great evening for American guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: DePaul) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 8 assists. The former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (198-90) helped adding 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Levski Lukoil players scored in double figures. Levski Lukoil's coach Konstantin Papazov felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Cadarian Raines (205-90, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 21 points and international forward Aleksandar Yanev-Georgiev (203-90, agency: 011 Sports) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Levski Lukoil have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-2 record behind leader Balkan. Beroe at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Levski Lukoil are looking forward to face Cherno More (#7) in Varna in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Beroe will play on the road against Yambol and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
