Second Stage Round 9: Targoviste - Satu Mare 58-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Targoviste. Second ranked Satu Mare faced 4th placed CSM Targoviste. Guests from Satu Mare (10-3) defeated host CSM Targoviste (4-9) 76-58. They outrebounded CSM Targoviste 40-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Her fellow American import forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Satu Mare players scored in double figures. The former international guard Ancuta Stoenescu (175-80) answered with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Alina Chivu (175-90) added 21 points and 4 steals in the effort for CSM Targoviste. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Satu Mare have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-3 record having four points less than leader Targu Secuiesc. CSM Targoviste at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Satu Mare will play against league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CSM Targoviste will play on the road against Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
