Important game to mention about took place in Karlsruhe. Fifteenth ranked Lions (9-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (19-7) 86-83 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Stroman (188-96, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Maurice Pluskota (208-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Stroman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Adrian Breitlauch (192-93) added 17 points in the effort for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Five Lions and four Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. Lions moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Lions will play against Schalke (#16) on the road in the next round. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
