Regular Season Round 28: Nuernberg - Tuebingen 78-70

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Walter Tigers (11-16) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Nuernberg (16-11) 78-70 on Friday. Nuernberg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Walter Tigers' 30. They outrebounded Walter Tigers 40-26 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Jonathan Maier (210-92) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jackson Kent (196-93, college: JMU) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Center Enosch Wolf (215-90, college: UConn, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Albanian guard Besnik Bekteshi (191-93) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nuernberg moved-up to fourth place. Walter Tigers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Nuernberg will face Gladiators (#8) in Trier in the next round. Walter Tigers will play at home against Phoenix Hagen (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
