Worth to mention a great performance of American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Polish swingman Dennis Nawrocki (193-92) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Colter Lasher (201-94, college: Houston Baptist) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Nick Hornsby (201-95, college: Sacramento St.) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Science City Jena have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-8 record having six points less than leader Chemnitz. Newly promoted Bayer Giants dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Science City Jena will meet at home BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Bayer Giants will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
