Regular Season Round 22: Akhisar Bld - Duzce Bld. 69-71

A very interesting game took place in Akhisar. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Akhisar Bld (13-9) to fourteenth ranked Duzce Belediye (6-16) 71-69 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. Strangely Akhisar Bld outrebounded Duzce Belediye 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. American forward Jacquil Taylor (208-95, college: Hofstra) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Lamonte Bearden (190-95, college: WKU) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Duzce Belediye players scored in double figures. Lithuanian Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Can Ozcan (202-89) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Duzce Belediye maintains fourteenth position with 6-16 record. Akhisar Bld at the other side dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Duzce Belediye's next round opponent will be league's leader Fethiye at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Akhisar Bld will play against Merkezefendi having rather not much hope for a victory.
