Second Stage Round 10: Silute - Zalgiris II 96-78

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Silute (27-11) beat at home 5th ranked Zalgiris II (20-18) 96-78. Silute shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. American guard Byron Sanford (182-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Andrius Gaidys (180-94) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Justinas Ramanauskas (193-0) scored 16 points. Five Silute and four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Silute have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 27-11 record having four points less than leader Gargzdu. Zalgiris II at the other side keeps the fifth place with 18 games lost. Silute will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round. Zalgiris II will play at home against Vytis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
