We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Hannover (11-10) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Osnabrueck SC (11-10) 72-68 on Saturday. Osnabrueck SC outrebounded Hannover 44-25 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dutch center Rowie Jongeling (188-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American power forward Brianna Rollerson (185-94, college: Creighton) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Osnabrueck SC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Belarusian guard Alexandra Tarasava (172-88) with 21 points and Estonian Janne Pulk (172-0) scored 10 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Osnabrueck SC. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Hannover. Hannover lost their third game in a row. Osnabrueck SC will meet at home Goettingen (#8) in the next round. Hannover will play against BC Pharmaserv Marburg and hope to secure a win.
