Regular Season Round 22: Academica - Electrico FC 79-73

There was no surprise in Coimbra where 10th ranked Electrico FC (10-13) was defeated by fourth ranked Academica (13-9) 79-73 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American forward Ryan Ogden (193, college: Southwestern, TX) fired 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Point guard Nuno Brito (180) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Ogden is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Academica's coach Ivo Rego used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward ShayRone Jett (203, college: PVAMU) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Anthony Holliday (191-92, college: Lamar) added 24 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Academica maintains fourth position with 13-9 record. Loser Electrico FC keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Academica will face Sanjoanense (#8) in Sao Joao in the next round. Electrico FC will play at home against Dragon Force and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
