Regular Season Round 16: Mykolaiv - Zaporizhye 95-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Zaporizhye (8-17) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Mykolaiv (8-18) 95-88 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 27-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Mykolaiv made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mykolaiv outrebounded Zaporizhye 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard QJ Peterson (183-94, college: VMI) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian-Russian center Aleksey Adediran (201-82, college: Binghamton) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Brandon Randolph (188-95, college: Utah Valley, agency: Interperformances) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and guard Andriy Kozhemiakin (190-96) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Mykolaiv and five Zaporizhye players scored in double figures. Zaporizhye's coach Valeriy Plehanov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mykolaiv maintains eighth position with 8-18 record. Loser Zaporizhye keeps the seventh place with 17 games lost. Mykolaiv will have a break next round.
