Naestved (13-10) outlasted Randers (19-5) in overtime by six points 94-88 on Saturday night. The game took place in Randers. But the guests from Naestved were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Randers won fourth quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Randers used huge pressure winning it 21-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 4-10. Naestved forced 21 Randers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Evan Fitzner (208-96, college: Indiana) scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Aleksandar Sokolovic (193-93) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Fitzner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side international guard Rasmus Bach (193-95, college: Fort Lewis) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Chris Nielsen (193-85) scored 20 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Naestved have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 13-10 record. Loser Randers keep the second place with five games lost. Naestved will have a break next round. Randers will play at home against Horsens IC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
